I have been working for the past five years as an Instructional Assistant in second grade in Academia Cotopaxi. In addition, during the 2012-2013 school year, I worked in Imagine Valley in a multi-age classroom with children aged 3 to 5. Thanks to these experiences, I've learned a great deal about best practice strategies for working with young children. I have seen how important the role of play is in a child’s learning and the responsibility teachers have to empower students to take risks and believe in themselves. Because I have worked alongside several experienced teachers with different styles and skill sets, I have acquired a repertoire of ideas for organizing and managing a classroom effectively. In addition, I have had the opportunity over the past several years to build positive relationships with AC families and our greater community. These experiences have shown me the importance of open communication and promoting teamwork between home and school, which is essential for our learners to be successful. I believe my positive attitude, leadership skills, as well as my ability and willingness to learn make me a strong candidate.
