I am an audit supervisor at the BDO Offshore division. I primarily work on Belgian clients and am therefore, experienced in both SA and BE audit methodologies. I am currently doing CIMA in the hopes of qualifying as a CGMA. I have worked in audit since 2016, having started my training at EY and eventually worked as a Senior Assurance Specialist at PwC SDC division. I am a hard worker with a passion for teaching and developing others. You will find me giving hugs to colleagues and encouraging others when the deadlines are many and the nights are long.
REASON FOR LEAVING:
The division has grown a lot since its inception in 2022 - the main challenge I have faced in this environment is the language barrier with most of our clients communicating in Dutch or French.
This poses a continual challenge to my learning and development.
REASON FOR DEPARTURE:
I worked at the service delivery centre which a division of the company that assisted the main audit teams - this meant that the skills learnt here would be limited and the role is ideal for someone who has completed their training.
As I had not at the time, an opportunity came for me to complete my training at BDO. I was offered a place in their Belgian division which I have been a part of since 2022.
REASON FOR LEAVING:
The role as a debtors' clerk was limiting with no growth opportunities in the company.
It was quite repetitive and I thrive in an environment where there is growth and continual learning.
