Communications Officer

Implementation of the Branding Strategy at all events

· Branding the high profile events where the President, National Ministers, and the MEC attend

· Brand with departmental Banners, distribute departmental publications

· Design and print programs, profiles, posters and name tags according to the Departmental Corporate Identity

· Making sure the correct logos are used on the invitations and programs especially when international countries visit the department.

Capture of Stories and photography

· I capture stories after every event attended for submission to my supervisor

Video Production and video Editing

· Do profiles in terms of photography and video production of projects before the MEC launch and visit the projects

· Editing of video footage of key events of the department profiling the MEC and mandate of the department.

· Editing of video footage of projects and programs supported by the department.

.Do live streaming during the proceedings of the event.

.Conduct video capturing and video editing trainings

Preparation of LCD slides for the LCD screens

· Prepare the slides of the photographs with captions of events on my return from the event to be screened on the departmental LCD screens

Media Release and Monitoring

· Prepare and send out media invitations and statements

· Contact the media to make sure they are aware of the events

Design and compilation of the department’s publications, covering key departmental events

· Contribute articles and photographs to the production of the departmental newsletter.

· Conduct interviews with the Program Managers.

· Attend High profile events where the MEC is present.

· Design and produce leaflets depicting the departments achievements and promote the key projects of the department

Events co-ordination and Public Participation

· Attend preparation meetings before the events especially where major events take place example the Career Expos, Agriculture Expo, Female Farmer Awards and MEC’s Stakeholder Engagement Session. Write a report after the meetings and submit it to my supervisor.

· I give guidance and co-ordinate events

· Draw up a communication plan for the staff members who will be attending and what role they will be playing during the event.

· Keep in touch with the District Co-Ordinator's where the event will take place.
