  • You will be sent to Traffic College to obtain a Traffic Officers Diploma. Failure to obtain Traffic Officers Diploma from the Training College, will result to the termination of your employment.
  • Your appointment is on a permanent basis and is subject to a probationary period of Six months from date of appointment, whereafter it shall be confirmed dependent upon satisfactory service.
  • Your ordinary working hours will be 40 per week.
  • Your ordinary working days shall be from Monday to Saturday.
  • You will be required to work shifts.
  • The Buffalo City Council is a member of the South African Local Government Association - Eastern Cape (SALGA-EC) which is an affiliate of the South African Local Government Bargaining Council (SALGBC).
  • Your commencing salary will be at the rate of R8 191. 21 per month on Task Grade 5A: R98 294. 52 per annum of the Council's salary grading scheme.
  • You may, from time to time and when required, work overtime for which you shall be remunerated in terms of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
  • You shall be entitled to a thirteenth cheque (annual bonus) which shall be equivalent to your monthly basic salary and payable on the month preceding your anniversary month.
  • You shall be required to join a Council approved Provident Fund. The employee contribution will be deducted from your salary each month and paid over to the Fund along with the corresponding Council contribution.
  • You shall be entitled to be a member of a Council approved medical aid scheme.
  • You shall be entitled to join a Council approved Group Life Assurance scheme.
  • You shall be entitled to Statutory leave of 16 working days in respect of a 12 month period (1.33 days per month) and Non-Statutory leave of 8 working days in respect of a 12 month period (0.67 days per month).
  • You shall be entitled to sick leave equivalent to eighty working days within a three year cycle.
  • You shall be entitled to family responsibility leave of five working days (after four month's service).
