I started my career as medical device representative. I worked 8 years as a neuromonitoring technician in theatre monitoring where the nervous system may be at risk during surgery. In theatre I guided surgeons and theatre staff in using neuromonitoring equipment effectively . Working as a medical representative in hospitals inspired me to obtain the clinical technology(neurophysiology) degree. Industry exposure made me realize clinical technology is the most appropriate degree available in order to work effectively as a clinical professional in the highly regulated medical device environment. I have strengths in technical knowledge and feel a strong need to develop myself further.

After qualifying as a Clinical Neurophysiologist I started a practice with a fellow Neurophysiologist with the initial backing of a previous employer. Currently we are solidifying our client base and planning for future independent expansion.

IONM 102 Introduction to intraoperative neuromonitoring part 2 ,ASET

• Attended Neurosign intraoperative neuromonitor device training in London on September 2012 (international distributor meeting) on behalf of Vision Medical. New technology was showcased including a focus on new recurrent laryngeal monitoring electrodes as well as the disposable Kartush electrified dissection instruments for brain tumor removal allowing for continuous stimulation of nerves while removing tumor. General modality training also received.
• Attended the Natus Europe training academy focused on multimodality training on using the advanced XLTEK IONM 32 channel monitors in order to introduce its use in South Africa. Training attended in Munich, Germany on 21-24 September in 2016. Subsequently the devices have been introduced for use in Gauteng, Western Cape, Durban. General modality training also received.
